The Sound of Imprisoned

Published on July 02, 2026byIMPRISONED Team1 min read

Let the background music begin! (Or rather, the crunching of bones)

Hello there, prisoners. Helder here.
(sound of static and a bat scraping across the floor)

I know a lot of you are eager to roam the prison hallways again, but it’s one thing to see the renovated dining hall and quite another to feel what happens when things get ugly in there. Because they’re going to get ugly. A multiplayer game without a good brawl isn’t prison—it’s nothing.

As you already know, life in here isn’t settled just by talking. It’s also settled with whatever you have on hand: your fists, a good stick, a well-loaded slingshot, or—if things escalate—bladed weapons and firearms. But what’s it like to get hit in the ribs with a stick while wearing armor?

That’s where I come in.

My mission is to spend hours in the “lab” (my foley suite and DAW) smashing objects, recreating impacts, and making sure every hit really hurts just by the sound of it. A light tap with a bat isn’t the same as a full-force swing.

The system reacts to the power of the blow (the “damage,” for the techies), and you’ll clearly notice the difference between a glancing blow, a clean hit on the armor, a bloody slash, and—my personal favorite—that crisp sound when a bone says, “That’s it.”

All of this is the result of meticulous sound design and integration so that, when you get into a fight, your adrenaline spikes instantly.

So you don’t have to imagine the pain, I’ve put together an exclusive video with a live demonstration of the arsenal of combat impacts.

Turn up your speakers, cover your ears if you’re sensitive, and…

… Sharpen your spikes, and watch your back in the courtyard. Talk to you soon!
