Prison returns: Prison Legacy is born

This isn't the kind of news you hear every day.

Today we want to share some important news with all of you who are part of this story:

The original Prison, created by the original team, is returning under a new name: Prison Legacy.

A legacy that never disappeared

After the closure of La Prisión’s servers in 2018, many of us players felt that a door had been left open. That’s where the Revive La Prisión movement was born, driven by former players who didn’t want it all to be lost.

That momentum was the origin of what you now know as IMPRISONED: a community-driven project, created with the intention of recapturing the essence of La Prisión and taking it into a new era with modern technology, new mechanics, and a vision of its own.

During this time, the community’s support, the work done, and the affection shown by so many former Prisoners have made one very important thing clear: La Prisión was still alive in everyone’s memory.

And it is precisely that movement—the community’s determination to keep the flame alive—that has also been one of the motivations driving the original team to take the step of relaunching La Prisión under the name Prison Legacy.

For us, as players and as part of this community, this is huge news.

What is Prison Legacy?

Prison Legacy is the new name under which La Prisión will be relaunched.

The project already has an official website at www.prisonlegacy.com, where it is presented as the return of the original Prison MMO. There is still information to be revealed, but the simple fact of seeing movement around the original game again is something many of us have been waiting years for.

Here at IMPRISONED, we want to welcome this news with respect, excitement, and a lot of curiosity. La Prisión is part of our history, our motivation, and our community. The fact that the original game is reopening its doors is something worth celebrating.

What happens now with IMPRISONED?

We want to make this clear from the very beginning:

The development of IMPRISONED continues.

IMPRISONED is moving forward in parallel with the launch of Prison Legacy. Our project maintains its own path, its own vision, and its own development. It was born from the desire to revive an experience that many of us missed, and that desire remains intact.

IMPRISONED represents the work of a community that decided to build something new, inspired by what brought us together.

Both projects can coexist. Both stem, in one way or another, from the same love for La Prisión. And for those of us who have been waiting for years to walk those hallways again, this is probably the best news possible: the La Prisión universe is on the move again.
